Northwest Hosts High School Writing Workshop

Northwest Campus Continuing Education Services and English department faculty joined forces with the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas to host the third annual “Latinas in Progress-Scholarship Writing Workshop” last Saturday, Dec. 5.

The half-day workshop in the Michael Saenz Conference Center provided a select group of 60 high school females with instruction on writing and tips to ease the scholarship application process. Participants were chosen from more than 300 applicants.

“Northwest faculty have done a fabulous job in helping our girls strengthen their writing skills for the last two years,” complimented NW Continuing Education Director Susie Olmos-Soto.

Special thanks to faculty members Dixil Rodriguez, Anita Biber and Yu-Li (Alice) Shen for contributing their time and talents to the workshop.
