South Campus President Ernest L. Thomas received the Seasoned Leaders award as part of the Minority Leaders and Citizens Council African-American Men’s Month Celebration during October. MLCC is recognizing the works of positive and effective Black men and organizations in the African-American community.
Thomas is scheduled to discuss “Encouraging African-American Men to Attend College” Oct. 28 at noon during the weekly MLCC meeting at the Community Christian Church Annex, 1800 E. Vickery Blvd.
Other honorees have been former Fort Worth Independent School District Ombudsman Dennis Dunkins, educator and community leader Kerven Carter Jr., and former Trimble Tech Coach John Gales Sr. Community organizations honored were the Gentleman’s Society and The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas.
