Linda Braddy Is New Dean at South Campus

South Campus has a new dean of the Health and Natural Sciences Division. Hailing from Oklahoma, Linda Braddy is the former mathematics department chair at East Central University in Ada.

A recognized teacher, Braddy earned several teaching awards, including the 2006 Oklahoma-Arkansas Section of The Mathematical Association of America Award for Distinguished University Teaching of Mathematics. In 2001, she earned the East Central University Teaching Excellence Award and was named East Central University Faculty of the Month by the Student Senate.

Braddy, who earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics at East Central University, began her teaching career in 1996 as an adjunct mathematics instructor at her alma mater. She also served as assistant professor, associate professor and professor of mathematics before she was named department chair in 2005.

She holds a doctorate and master’s degrees in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Professional memberships include The Mathematical Association of America, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Phi Delta Kappa International.
