FORT WORTH, Texas — The Tarrant County College Board of Trustees has approved a tuition increase of $5 per credit hour, effective spring 2025.
Tarrant County residents will pay $74 per credit hour instead of $69; tuition for those who live outside the county moves to $136 from $131. Out-of-state and international students will pay $315.
This is the second year of a three-year rate increase to better serve Trailblazers, enrich their overall College experience and strengthen academic and training offerings while keeping a TCC education among the most affordable in Texas.
“We fully understand that any tuition change impacts our students and their families,” said TCC Board President Teresa Ayala. “We’re grateful that we have been able to keep tuition this low for this long.
“Providing an affordable, high-quality education remains our top priority, and it always will be.”
TCC’s dual credit students will continue to receive free tuition through the Financial Aid for Swift Transfer (FAST) program created by Texas House Bill 8, which links state funding for community colleges to student outcomes.
And All TCC students are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the Tarrant County College Foundation.
A new Student Empowerment Center connects Trailblazers with community resources to not only survive but thrive. Student needs, everything from transportation to shelter to food, are handled individually to ensure the greatest care.
Ayala: “As we celebrate our founding 60 years ago, we are more determined than ever to make an exceptional education attainable for all who seek it. To meet students where they are and do all we can to get them where they want to go.”
Think New Heights High School and the opportunity for adults to simultaneously earn a full high school diploma and a college-level certificate. Or TCC’s Next Phase program, which gives nonviolent offenders the chance to begin classes while serving their time, then finish when they’re released. Or a free 12-week Microelectronics and Nanomanufacturing Certificate program for veterans and their dependents (just this fall the Texas Veterans Commission gave TCC its Gold Award for outstanding support of veteran and military-connected students).
Tarrant County College is one of the nation’s largest higher education institutions and boasts the second lowest tuition of Texas’ Top 10 community colleges. A comprehensive two-year college with six campuses in Tarrant County and online classes, TCC offers a range of opportunities for learners of all ages and backgrounds, including Associate of Arts and Associate of Applied Science degrees; workforce and economic development programs; technical and skilled trades programs; and customized training for area businesses and corporations.
