Tarrant County College is ranked as a top institution for associate degrees in automotive technology, according to a recent national ranking by GradReports. Nationally, TCC ranked No. 9 out 25 and is the only Texas higher education institution featured on the list. Automotive Technology students take classes through TCC South in southeast Fort Worth, which continues to train students through online instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Programs were ranked based on the salaries for graduates the first year after completing their associate degree and compared with the average cost of tuition to earn the degree. The median salary for automotive technology majors at TCC was $42,700.
All data was collected from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard released in 2019. More information about the methodology is available at https://www.gradreports.com/best-colleges/methodology.
“This is no accident…TCC’s Automotive Technology faculty and staff are a highly trained and dedicated group,” TCC South President Peter Jordan. “They work extremely hard to maintain standards set by two rigorous accrediting bodies (NATEF-Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and Toyota Technician Network (T-TEN). They are regularly advised by industry leaders who help us maintain our high standards and cutting-edge technology on which students practice. It is these partnerships with local and regional dealerships that lead to student apprenticeships and employment for our graduates.”
Students enrolled in the Automotive Technology program at TCC South are prepared to enter the workforce as entry-level service technicians. The Toyota T-TEN program, which launched in 2018, trains students for entry-level automotive technician positions in Toyota/Lexus dealership service organizations.
All degrees and certificates are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). For more information about automotive technology offerings at TCC, visit the program’s webpage.
