Tarrant County College’s Welcome Week will run from Jan. 18 until Jan. 21 and will feature several free events to help students acclimate themselves to TCC campuses, get connected and get ready for the semester to come.
Welcome Week events will vary and include things such as games, information sessions and tasty food.
The week kicks off with Toro Tuesday on multiple campuses, giving students an opportunity to get some free food and gear from Student Activities. TCC Northeast will host Toro Tuesday activities in the library’s (NLIB) lobby from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students at TCC South can visit the Student Center (SSTU) dining hall to get free tacos from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
TCC South will host a Senior Education Orientation on Friday, Jan. 20 in the Student Center dining hall, allowing students to meet with senior education teachers and peers and learn about senior education classes being offered this spring.
While most of the events are in-person, there also are several virtual events for both new and returning students.
A Goal Setting Workshop will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Jan. 18to help students define and achieve their goals. This one-hour workshop will help students envision where they want to be and how to achieve it. Link to the virtual workshop
On Thursday, Jan. 20, students can learn about the virtual resources to help increase their chances of academic success during the Online Student Services Workshop being held from 12 to 12:30 p.m. Link to the online student service workshop

Spring Student Deregistration Update
In an effort to help more students get enrolled and find funding to cover their balances, TCC has suspended the ordinary deregistration processes for the Spring 2022 semester. If students have enrolled in Spring courses but have not yet paid for classes, TCC will contact them via phone, email and text to offer assistance, which may be include tuition payment options, accessing HEERF and other funds available to TCC students.
