In keeping with its commitment to serving the community, Tarrant County College campuses will host numerous career events this fall to assist students and community members as they seek employment. Events include job fairs, seminars and online resources.
On Oct. 4, TCC Trinity River, 300 Trinity Campus Circle, will host a Fall Career Fair from 9:30 am to 1:30 p.m. on the Main Street Level (TRTR Level 2). Participants are encouraged to dress professionally and bring at least 40 copies of their updated résumé for area employers who will be recruiting on campus.
Also on Oct. 4, TCC South, 5301 Campus Drive, will offer “Take the Journey with Career Services,” a seminar designed to assist students in selecting a major, determining the best career path and getting needed experience in that field. Located in SSTU Career Services, the seminar is from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Internships and long-term career opportunities will be promoted at the Culinary & Hospitality Career Works Job Fair at TCC Southeast, 2100 Southeast Pkwy., Arlington, on Oct. 17. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Campus’ North Ballroom, area employers will meet with students enrolled in the TCC Culinary, Hospitality and Business Technical programs.
TCC Northeast, 828 W. Harwood Rd., Hurst, offers several seminars to assist with career development, including “Internships,” (Oct. 18), “Purposeful Perspectives: Are You Emotionally Intelligent?” (Nov. 14) and “Do You Really Have Job Skills? Candidates interested in employment in the aviation, transportation and logistics sector will want to attend the Fall 2017 Job Fair. Hosted by the Erma C. Hadley Johnson Center of Excellence for Aviation, Transportation & Logistics (CEATL) and Career Services at TCC Northwest on Nov. 15 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Located at CEATL, 2301 Horizon Drive Fort Worth, TX 76177, the fair features recruiters from top companies in the area. Recruiters from FedEx, Flight Safety, Lockheed Martin, US Aviation and DynCorp, as well as branches of the military are expected.
TCC Connect, 444 N. Henderson St., offers Career Transitions, an online database resource designed to assist students with résumés, career interest surveys, interview preparation, simulated interviews, internships and employment opportunities. The database, provided through Hispanic Education Technology Services (HETS), is available to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
