WHAT:
As part of its month-long celebration of African-American Heritage Month, Tarrant County College South Campus hosts the third annual Districtwide Celebrating Strides event, featuring actor Tommy Ford, known for his role on the Martin Lawrence sitcom, “Martin.” He will be joined during the celebration by music, dance and theatrical performances.
Ford encourages literacy nationwide. TCC’s commitment to student success is apparent in the training it provides in adult basic skills and GED preparation at multiple campuses and community centers throughout Tarrant County. Studies have shown that more than 200,000 Tarrant County adults cannot read well enough to succeed at a fourth-grade level.
