TCC Announces New Assistants to Chancellor and Campus Presidents

FORT WORTH, Texas (June 2, 2014) — Tarrant County College has further enhanced its ability to meet the needs of its students and the community by expanding its administrative teams to include assistants to the Chancellor and the president at each campus. The assistants will serve as the primary liaisons and aides, will help build relationships with business, government and community leaders and will coordinate the Chancellor’s and presidents’ participation in community events and initiatives.
 

Kelley Mills
Kelley Mills
Kelley Mills, assistant to Chancellor Erma Johnson Hadley, previously served as trustee relations secretary at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, R. I., where she was the main administrative liaison between the board of trustees and administration. Mills’ experience also includes serving as the associate chief of staff at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and as executive assistant to the provost of William Peace University in Raleigh, N.C. and as assistant the chancellor for budget and planning at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She is a member of the board of directors for the National Association of Presidential Assistants in Higher Education and serves on the Board Professional Leadership Group at the Association of Governing Boards. Mills holds a doctorate in higher education leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts in public policy analysis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
 
Jack Harred
Jack Harred
At the Northeast Campus, Jack Harred is the assistant to Campus President Larry Darlage. He is a first-generation college graduate with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master of Science in sociology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Harred was a full-time sociology faculty member at Northwestern State University; prior to that, he conducted research on the criminal justice system for the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement. Harred also taught at Louisiana State University and Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge until he returned to Texas to teach at Texas A&M University-Commerce. He joined TCC in 2012 as a research analyst.
 
Kirsten Cooper
Kirsten Cooper
Kirsten Cooper, assistant to Northwest Campus President Elva LeBlanc, brings more than 16 years of higher education experience, including 10 years as a faculty member, to her new role. Her experience includes work at MiraCosta College, Palomar College, San Diego Community College District and Texas State Technical College. Cooper has a broad knowledge of the policies and principles of a community college, including a comprehensive understanding of leadership and management. She has worked closely with faculty, staff and administrators to support learning through program development, technology implementation, learning space development, faculty training, community engagement and data analysis. Cooper earned a Bachelor of Vocational Education in vocational education from San Diego State University, a Master of Education in educational technology leadership from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and is currently working on a doctorate in higher education at Texas Tech University.
 
Raymond Pfang
Raymond Pfang
Serving as the assistant to South Campus President Peter Jordan is Theophane (Raymond) Pfang. He joined TCC in 2013 as a coordinator of special projects for the District’s Continuing Education Services Division and served as interim vice president of Academic Affairs at South Campus for several months. Before coming to TCC, Pfang served as a director of institutional effectiveness and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools liaison at Fisher More College in Fort Worth. Additionally, he was head of the School of Business Management at St. Patrick’s College and director of Regent University’s Business Forum, both in London. Pfang also is an adjunct faculty member at Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business. He holds a doctorate in management from the University of Surrey and a master’s degree in business management and a post-graduate degree in education and training from the University of Greenwich. In addition, he has a post-graduate degree in maritime studies from Cardiff University in Wales.
 
Michael Cinatl
Michael Cinatl
Longtime TCC staff member Michael Cinatl provides support to Southeast Campus President William Coppola. He joined TCC in 1981 to launch the Interpreting for the Deaf Program at the Northwest Campus. After serving as department chair of speech, music and foreign languages at the NW Campus, Cinatl moved to the SE Campus as coordinator of Career and Employment Services in 1995. He also held interim division dean positions in social sciences and business and humanities. In 2008, Cinatl was named director of Dual Credit, Career and Campus Services, where he served until becoming the assistant to the president. He has a Bachelor of Science in special education and a Master of Science degree in education, both from the University of Wisconsin.
 
Anne Arvin
Anne Arvin
Anne E. Arvin, assistant to Trinity River Campus President Tahita Fulkerson, served as dean of the School of Law at the University of West Los Angeles (UWLA) and associate registrar at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif. Arvin’s teaching experience includes English classes at Abilene Christian University, Southwest Missouri State and Pepperdine and law classes at UWLA. Heavily involved in the accreditation process for Pepperdine and UWLA, Arvin also served on three Western Association of Schools and Colleges visiting teams to other regionally-accredited institutions. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English from ACC and a Juris Doctorate degree from Pepperdine.
