WHAT:
The Tarrant County College Fire Service Training Center will honor deceased firefighters during Fire Prevention Week at its first Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ceremony. During the program, 89 names of firefighters killed in the line of duty in 2010 will be read, and 89 sets of bunker gear will be displayed in their honor.

Euless Fire Chief Wes Rhodes will be the guest speaker, and area fire departments are expected to be represented. The ceremony will include a color guard, drums and bagpipes and a flyover by the PHI Medical Helicopter. A reception will follow. Bunker gear includes the helmet, coat, pants, boots and gloves firefighters wear. Fire Prevention Week is always observed the week that includes Oct. 9 to commemorate the 1871 fire that destroyed Chicago.
