You can learn the “Dollars and Sense of Publishing” and meet award-winning author Ann Weisgarber next month when Northeast Campus Continuing Education Services and Whirlwind Communications host the fifth annual “Do the Write Thing” workshop.
Details on how to publish your works without breaking the bank will be given Saturday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Center, NSTU Room 1615A. Weisgarber is the author of “The Personal History of Rachel Dupree,” recipient of the Langum Prize for American Historical Fiction for 2010 and the 2009 Steven Turner Award for Best Work of First Fiction, sponsored by the Texas Institute of Letters.
Topics include “Overcoming Writer’s Block” and “Making Your Book and E-book/Kindle.” TCC faculty and authors Rebecca Balcarcel, Ludwig Otto and conference founder Shewanda Riley also are presenters.
Registration is $50 in advance and $75 at the door. Registration for students with a current TCC identification card is $25.
