Northwest Campus’ Fire Service Training Center (FSTC) makes its debut on national television Monday, July 18. Our FSTC was the location for the finale of 32-year-old Staci’s year-long transformation on the new reality series, “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition.” The show airs at 9 p.m. on the ABC Television Network, Channel 8.
Get a sneak preview of the start of Staci’s life-changing journey to overcome her 20-year battle with her weight. A commercial of Monday’s show also may be viewed along with recipes and nutritional tips.
Staci and the film crew of 3 Ball Productions were on Northwest Campus February 7-8 when her family and friends watched as she found out how much of her original 454 pounds she had shed. Be sure to scan the cheering crowd for the faces of FSTC staff and others in the TCC family. Filming was a challenge since it was on the heels of the wintery storm that hit the Fort Worth area earlier this year.
You can see what Staci looked like at the beginning of her journey and learn more about her by reading her biographical sketch.
Trainer and transformation specialist, Chris Powell (“The 650-Pound Virgin”) guided Staci for one year. He moved into her home and the homes of other participants, interacting with their families and loved ones. By assuring that they had the proper nourishment and exercise movement, Chris provided a fresh perspective to individuals whose lives have become unmanageable because of their weight.
Executive producers were J.D. Roth and Todd A. Nelson, who produced “The Biggest Loser” and “MasterChef.”
Special thanks to FSTC Coordinator Steve Keller and his outstanding staff, NW Campus police, dance and physical fitness faculty and staff and facilities personnel for help with logistics.
